8th Drug-Device Combination Products Summit Brings Professionals Together in Amsterdam to Advance Drug Delivery Innovation
The 8th Drug-Device Combination Products Summit, organised by Etapa Pharma, successfully brought together nearly 100 professionals in Amsterdam on September 23–24, 2026, for two days of knowledge exchange, valuable discussions and meaningful networking.
Connecting experts across pharmaceuticals, medical devices, regulatory affairs, quality, engineering and innovation, the summit provided a focused platform to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping combination product development.
As therapies become more complex and patient expectations continue to evolve, integrating medicines with effective, reliable and intuitive delivery systems remains a shared industry priority. Against this backdrop, the summit explored a central question: How do we develop combination products that are technically robust, regulatory-ready and truly fit for the patients who use them?

They also reinforced the importance of early alignment between pharmaceutical development, device engineering, regulatory affairs, quality and manufacturing.

Great to be attending the 8th Drug-Device Combination Products Conference in Amsterdam this week! What stands out is how many of the challenges we face are shared: navigating complex interfaces, bringing pharma & device quality and regulatory requirements together, managing lifecycle considerations, and finding practical ways to move forward.
I learned a great deal from both the speakers and the other attendees, met some wonderful people, and had the opportunity to expand my professional network. I would also like to highlight the excellent work of the three moderators, Javad, Kevin and Diane, who made the sessions and workshops particularly engaging and interactive.
There was a lot of valuable information packed into the two days, so I am still digesting some of the insights and conversations. Many thanks to you and the team for the great organization.
Lots of good discussions, and quite a few questions around how we can optimize Human Factors processes while still maintaining the rigor needed for regulatory compliance. I really enjoyed the conversations around what that looks like in practice, especially when it comes to platforms, evidence reuse, and making submission preparation more efficient. Great organization by Etapa Pharma, and also really fun catching up with Javad, who did a great job presenting and keeping the discussions moving. A very good way to finish the conference week.
It was a pleasure to contribute to the discussion and explore why understanding real-world dosing behavior matters when we evaluate how forgiving a drug–device combination really is. Great discussions and exchanges throughout the event!
